While working on a video installation involving log-rolling, I was struck by the way in which droplets of water accumulated on the camera housing, and subsequently made a series of similar images. The droplets present for the viewer’s attention the optical nature of the lens, as well as the way in which the camera itself drives the relationship between the photographic subject and the photographer. In the latter sense, this series involves my continued interest in performativity. The works are all 24x24” or 36x36”.
